To meet the growing demand for 4K video, IDK has developed an innovative product for AV systems: IP‐NINJAR, a game changing Video over IP solution for high definition signal extension, switching and manipulation. This 4K solution leverages off‐the‐shelf 10Gb Ethernet switching and enables signal management of 4K/UHD 4:4:4 at 60 Hz signals with zero frame latency and seamless, multi-format switching. Boasting unlimited scalability and flexible input/output configurations, IP‐NINJAR brings a new concept for AV switching and distributing to the world of Pro AV.
Available as a transmitter/encoder or a receiver/decoder the IP NINJAR nodes support signal input via the latest HDMI interface, version 2.0 and the supports encryption by utilizing the HDCP 2.2 standard. These interfaces enable IP-NINJAR’s transmission and reception of resolutions up to 4K 4:4:4 at 60Hz at a data rate of 18Gbps with a dot clock frequency of up to 600MHz. The IP-NINJAR system is designed to support standards that meet the HDR (High Dynamic Range) and WCG (Wide Color Gamut) of today’s emerging video signals. By supporting these standards, IP-NINJAR users can meet the demands encountered in live event AV environments, where real time, low-latency processing and color fidelity are required for 4K/UltraHD workflows.
The IP-NINJAR is based on the AptoVision Plethora engine, a CODEC that implements an adaptive algorithm utilizing a mezzanine or light encoding/decoding compression only when necessary. Signals that are introduced into the IP-NINJAR system that are natively under the network bandwidth thresholds are transmitted without any audio/video compression. The selection of the Plethora engine allows multi-source video compositing, video splitting, color space conversion, frame rate conversion, audio embedding/de-embedding, audio down-mixing and audio re-sampling and the adoption of AES 128 encryption for the signal. IDK has enhanced the Plethora engine by building in additional processing power at the network nodes. This additional processing power facilitates expanded hardware control for features important in the pro-AV industry, including: Rock-solid HDCP support, EDID management, enhanced control and management tools, including system monitoring down to each individual I/O node.
The IP-NINJAR is deployed as a scalable plug and play system. This simplified deployment process automates many of the typical deployment-related operational steps and eliminates the need for provisioning or licensing when adding nodes to the network. Network timing is handled internally within the receivers, eliminating complicated clocking issues that are common in real-time video delivery networks. After the nodes have been discovered by the IP-NINJAR CTB control server, the automated process negotiates with the network nodes to perform deployment-related activities and then transitions to a monitoring and control routine. This management dynamic of the IP-NINJAR CTB system has made IDK a leader in the Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) consortium. The intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) provides numerous options for network viewing and monitoring, virtual matrix access isloation, the ability to tag nodes for quick visual reference and the ability to implement pre-build salvo events to quickly change the system configuration. The CTB can be configured as redundant system and provides options for storing information for backups, and storing information regarding users.
The IP-NINJAR CTB is the system’s centralized control server. This dual port appliance forms a secure, isolated bridge between broadcast traffic on your 10G network and your production network or isolated control / maintenance servers or consoles. The CTB’s integrated webserver supports system monitoring, management and control via network resident PCs, tablets and other user-oriented control devices. Fully automatic failover redundancy for the CTB is supported ensuring interruption-free system access. IDK’s API maintains consistency with our legacy MSD / FDX syntax and supports third party control options.
Deployment of a 10Gb network provides numerous advantages for high resolution, high quality video transmission. In addition to providing the bandwidth for audio/video signals, 1Gb of bandwidth is reserved as a segmented pathway and can be utilized for additional applications or to port an existing 1Gb LAN over the newly created network. In addition, the transmitter and receivers support a bi-directional RS-232 signal path, enabling remote control of devices from a via the network. Each of the components in the system is fully routable, Independent switching layers for all signal types (e.g. Video, Audio, RS232, etc.) via the IP-NINJAR Control box (CTB) and administrative user interface.
